MoM's doing it, So can you.

It certainly takes more than a few to create this marching band. It’s encouraging to see that the grassroots green energy campaign within the D.M.V is improving. Hopefully more non-green disciplined organizations and households can follow suit on this movement. Our role at Sobuka is to bridge the gap between consumers and green contractors; as well as provide resourceful information on emerging alternative energy in this region. Today we bring you the story of one establishment that has been privileged enough to enjoy a greener path.

MOM’s Organic Market is a successful company that advocates for green movement. Like few others, they are actively involved in a number of environmental activities that make more communities buy into their ideologies. One interesting highlight about MOM’s Organic is that they are 100% wind powered. They run on renewable energy credits (RECs) generated by wind farms. This isn’t a brand new approach to solving one’s energy needs because other organizations like Whole Foods also use this resource. However, there are currently only a small percentage of wind power REC users within DC, Maryland and Virginia. Given the current atmosphere of climate consciousness, communities should be informed about available resources within their reach. Did you know that RECs are competitively priced compared to your regular electric bill? So why not off-load the strain you put on the coal-generated electricity, and send more of your money to wind if it’s better for the environment? We like to inform our communities that this alternative energy is available, affordable, and most importantly accessible. We will feature more information about wind energy RECs very soon. In the mean time you can go to our homepage, and do a zipcode search for energy efficiency auditors in your area to see what other parts of your home or business you could improve.

more and more businesses should look into wind power RECs... give your money to renewable energy, and not coal-powered electricity.
